TiPES researchers were finally able to meet after that being prevented by COVID for almost the length of the project.

We gathered at Dartington hall nearby University of Exeter to have our second general assembly. The focus was on the five TiPES objectives;

Objective 1 (O1). Identify tipping elements (TEs) and their interactions in models and data

Objective 2 (O2). Provide approaches for the identification and validation of Early Warning Signals (EWSs)

Objective 3 (O3). Characterise climate response in the presence of Tipping Points (TPs)

Objective 4 (O4). Define and identify safe operating spaces

Objective 5 (O5). Bridge the gap between climate science and policy advice

The project has done immense progress on all of them and we found time to discuss the future scientific directions. Further we appreciated the input from members of the Advisory board.
